What is Restylane®?

Restylane® is comprised of hyaluronic acid. Like the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid in your skin, this injectable treatment restores volume that has been lost by hydrating skin. After treatment with Restylane®, your skin will be smoother with a marked reduction in the appearance of the targeted wrinkles.

How Much Does Restylane® Cost?

The cost of treatment with Restylane® is based upon an individual treatment plan that Dr. Levens develops during your consultation.  After the appointment, we provide you with a total cost and explain our payment options, including cash, personal check, Visa®, MasterCard® and American Express®.  If you are interested in financing your Restylane® treatments, our patient coordinators will explain how to apply for CareCredit®, Alphaeon Credit, or Prosper® Healthcare Lending.

Benefits of Restylane®

Restylane® contains hyaluronic acid, a substance that naturally occurs in your body. By increasing the amount of hyaluronic acid in your skin, Restylane® promotes a natural process that reduces signs of aging.  The treatments take less than one hour, require no downtime and give you long-lasting results.

Good Candidates for Restylane®

Since the main ingredient, hyaluronic acid, is present in your skin naturally, Restylane® treatment is ideal for individuals of varying skin types and ages. In addition to treating moderate to severe facial lines, folds and wrinkles, including nasolabial folds, Restylane® is also used for:

  • Marionette lines.
  • Hollow tear trough.
  • Facial contouring.
  • Lip augmentation.

During your initial consultation with Dr. Levens, he will examine your skin and ask you about your aesthetic goals. Using this information, he will craft a treatment plan designed to meet your unique needs.

What Happens During Restylane® Treatment?

Prior to your treatment of Restylane®, your skin at the treatment site will be carefully cleansed in preparation. An anesthetic is usually not needed for treatment with this product as it contains lidocaine for your comfort. Using special techniques, Dr. Levens will inject a specific amount of the product beneath the surface of your skin at the site of the wrinkle, causing an immediate improvement. To ensure even placement of the product, Dr. Levens may gently massage the site.

As you leave Dr. Levens office, your skin may exhibit some redness or swelling, both of which are temporary. You can diminish swelling by applying an ice pack to the treatment site. You will be asked to avoid strenuous activity for 24 hours, but you can return to your normal routine.

The effects of Restylane® can last six months to one year, during which time you will experience smoother skin and greatly diminished wrinkles at the treatment site. As the product is naturally reabsorbed by your body, you may wish to return to Dr. Levens for touch-up treatments. At these appointments, a lesser amount of the product is usually necessary to maintain the result.
