Endoscopic Brow Lift near Fort Lauderdale, FL
The brow and forehead area often show the most significant signs of aging, such as deep furrows, creases, and folds. These cosmetic concerns cannot be addressed with any amount of makeup, and injectable treatments may produce limited results for men and women in Fort Lauderdale and Broward County. Endoscopic brow lift surgery uses small incisions to lift the brow and forehead area to help you look younger.
What is an Endoscopic Brow Lift?
Endoscopic brow lift repositions the eyebrows to give the eyes a fresher, more open and more youthful look. At the same time, it can correct wrinkles between the eyes, reduce the appearance of heavy eyelids, and can often create a more pleasing shape and arch to the brows themselves.
Wrinkling above and between the brows can be caused by your personal pattern of facial expression (example, frequent frowning). Such patterns are almost impossible to change voluntarily.
If you have marked wrinkling between the eyes due to this type of excessive activity of the muscles of expression, this muscle activity can be reduced during your brow lift. Normal facial expression and adequate brow movements are preserved.
How Much Does a Brow Lift Cost?
The cost of Browlift starts at $5,400.00. However, prices may vary due to specials and/or the facility used. An individual treatment plan will be developed during your consultation with Dr. Levens. After the appointment, we provide you with a total cost and explain our payment options, including cash, personal check, Visa®, MasterCard® and American Express®. If you are interested in financing your endoscopic brow lift, our patient coordinators will explain how to apply for CareCredit®, Alphaeon Credit, or Prosper® Healthcare Lending.
Benefits of a Brow Lift
Although a brow lift is not specifically intended to improve the upper eyelid area, some patients experience a dual benefit in both the brow and eyelid area. Lifting the brow and forehead makes your eyes appear more open, giving you a softer, younger, more pleasant appearance.
Good Candidates for Brow Lift
Both heredity and aging can cause low eyebrow position and wrinkling. Brow deformities can occur even in young individuals, as early as the twenties. Therefore, healthy men and women of any age who are dissatisfied with the appearance of sagging brows, heavy eyelids, and wrinkling on the forehead and/or between the brows are good candidates for this procedure. The procedure is sometimes performed in conjunction with eyelid surgery to remove excess skin and tissue above and/or below the eyes.

What Happens During Brow Lift Surgery?
Three tiny incisions are placed within the hair of your scalp, and two incisions are placed in the hair in the region of your temples. The tissues are lifted and repositioned upward to provide the necessary lift to the brows and reduction of wrinkling. Dr. Levens will very carefully reposition the brows to achieve the most improvement possible without creating an overly startled or unnatural look.
Dr. Levens may trim a small area of hair, and will close your scalp as carefully as possible to attempt to prevent scar spreading. Hair almost always grows into the region of the scar. You may wash your hair the first day after surgery.
Special Considerations for Brow Lift Patients
There are always differences in the position and shape of your two eyebrows. A brow lift can significantly improve brow deformities, but slight differences in brow shape and position may exist even after surgery.
As post-surgical swelling decreases, your tissues will relax somewhat, allowing the brows to move downward slightly. To accommodate this expected tissue relaxation, your brows may initially be lifted slightly higher than their ultimate position. The gradual tissue relaxation phase usually lasts only a few weeks, and you can make adjustments in your makeup to compensate if necessary.
Risks associated with endoscopic brow lift surgery are extremely small, but risks common to all surgical procedures such as bleeding, infection, and scar tissue formation occur in a very small percentage of cases. We will give you more detailed information about these and other rare risks in our written information, and encourage you to discuss any that concern you during your consultation.
Recovery after Endoscopic Brow Lift
For two to three days after surgery, you will feel a tightness in your forehead which will gradually fade over the next few days as swelling decreases. Most of the bruising occurs in the eyelid area, and can usually be covered by makeup in five to seven days, or sooner if no eyelid surgery has been performed. Some patients experience no bruising at all. Some patients have a mild headache feeling for two to three days, and Dr. Levens will prescribe medication to treat that. Numbness of the scalp can persist in small areas but will gradually fade.
A brow lift is an outpatient procedure. The typical schedule of recovery is:
- Bruising and swelling for 5 to 10 days.
- Return to work and social activities within 7 to 14 days.
- Partake in aerobic or strenuous activities within 14 to 21 days.
Any aerobic activity that increases your pulse over 100 also increases your blood pressure, and could make you bleed if this activity is resumed too soon after surgery.
