Microneedling with PRP in Fort Lauderdale, FL

Microneedling – a skin rejuvenation procedure also known as collagen induction therapy – is a fast and simple way to reduce the physical effects of aging and make you look younger. And, as wonderful as it is on its own, when used in conjunction with platelet-rich plasma (PRP), its benefits enhance even more. Based in Coral Springs, board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. David J. Levens, offers microneedling treatment with PRP to women and men in Fort Lauderdale and Broward County.

A Natural Look

Using a serum naturally produced by your body, microneedling offers a safe, natural and effective solution to the effects of aging. By adding in platelet-rich plasma, this skin rejuvenation treatment promises to reduce lip wrinkles, dark circles and thin skin under the eyes, as well as other unwanted skin changes. With Dr. Levens’ experience in skin rejuvenation treatments, the benefits of combining microneedling and PRP guarantee the best results possible.

Microneedling: The Basics

Microneedling begins by numbing the treatment area with a special cream, followed by using a small, pen-like tool to make a series of miniscule penetrations in the skin. These penetrations actually damage the skin, but, as a result, force the skin to start repairing itself naturally. Injecting PRP serum into the same area only accelerates these repairs, thus enhancing the skin rejuvenation process as a whole.

How Is the Serum Obtained and Processed?

Extracting the serum from your skin is a painless process that requires the following steps:

  1. While waiting for the numbing cream to take effect, we take a blood sample; making sure to separate the red blood cells and serum-rich platelets in order to create a natural substance that stimulates the skin repair process.
  2. We process the serum, which produces enzymes that boost the concentration of platelets in your skin.
  3. We facilitate skin repair and rejuvenation by injecting PRP into the affected area. This injection nourishes skin, allowing it to repair itself and create even more skin cells once the microneedling treatment is complete.

How Much Does Microneedling with PRP Cost?

The cost of microneedling with PRP is based upon an individual treatment plan that Dr. Levens develops during your consultation.  After the appointment, we provide you with a total cost and explain our payment options, including cash, personal check, Visa®, MasterCard® and American Express®.  If you are interested in financing your microneedling with PRP, our patient coordinators will explain how to apply for CareCredit®, Alphaeon Credit, or Prosper® Healthcare Lending.

Benefits of Microneedling with PRP

PRP injection and microneedling addresses several skin issues, including broken capillaries, enlarged pores, fine wrinkles, thin skin, inconsistent skin color, poor skin texture and tone, acne or burn scars, and skin discoloration that results from sun exposure.

Is Microneedling with PRP Right for You?

Because microneedling with PRP is a natural process with few side effects, it is a safe procedure for almost any patient. This combination of treatments is particularly ideal for those individuals with dark skin.

Can Microneedling with PRP Be Repeated for Optimal Results?

We recommend that patients repeat the procedure a total of three times over a period of several months. That said, many patients prefer to spread out treatments to maintain optimal skin health and appearance, as aging and exposure to the sun continuously occur. To make sure you get the best results possible, we advise all patients on how to properly nourish and support your skin between treatments.

How Long Does Microneedling with PRP Take?

The length of the procedure and recovery process is different for every patient. In general, however, microneedling with PRP is an outpatient procedure that takes up to one hour to complete, with recovery only lasting three or four days.
